Medical receptionists are the face and the initial contact person when you call, or walk in to a hospital or medical practice. A medical receptionist is an important part of a high-function team in a hospital or medical practice and is relied on heavily by doctors, nurses, staff members and patients to coordinate a range of tasks from scheduling appointments, answering patient’s enquiries and manage the medical practice management system, to dealing with patient emergencies and monitoring stock and supplies within the practice and a host of other duties.

In order to be successful in their role, a medical receptionist is expected to be compassionate, caring, professional and discrete; with a high level of organisational skills. Attention to detail is a must as they are dealing with sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis.
